Summer school success among Maryville School Board highlights

The Maryville Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center.

Superintendent for Maryville Schools Becky Albrecht said summer school reported a major success.

"Probably our most informative presentation was on summer school. We contract with Summer Journey. We had a successful year, and had 421 students attend 21 days of instruction. It went great. We got our staff and parent surveys back and well over 95-percent, almost 300 parents who were surveyed said they would recommend the program and their children benefitted educationally."

Albrecht said other topics included a showing of student art to be displayed in the main office, Missouri School Board Association Policy revisions, and reports from adminsitrators and the president of the Community Teachers Association, as well as a special report for teacher evaluations.

The next scheduled meeting will be October 16th.
